Hello everyone and welcome to my Blog! First of all thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy yourself. My name is Coretta Owen and I am a wife, mother, and aspiring Doula. I started this blog a few months after I started my labor Doula certification. I thought it would be fun to chronicle the process as well as my hectic life as I go along. Not many people know what a Doula is or may have some misconceptions. A Doula is basically a "birth coach, I once saw a quote that said "A doula is sort of like your cool level headed friend when you're in labor. Basically a Doula is a woman that expectant mother's hire to be present during their birth, she will also help develop a Birth plan, provide childbirth education, and postpartum support including breastfeeding. Doulas empower women to have the birth experience they envision.
Once I have my certification I will work under myself, I think I am most excited about this. I have never liked having a boss and with two girls it will be nice to have my own small business. If you hear me referencing Labor of Love now you'll know what I'm talking about it!
